THE PRAYERS OF MANY

As Community Church Bishop's Stortford has grown, so too have our leadership, staffing and volunteering teams. Together they care deeply about seeing God impact the church, the wider community and the nations.
Although the church is led by local leaders, we believe that relationships with other churches are important, both in the town and more widely. We’re part of Relational Mission, a network of churches working together to impact our localities, both in this country and in Europe, Canada and Asia. Relational Mission is part of Newfrontiers, “a group of apostolic leaders, who, together with our teams and churches, are united on global mission by core values and genuine relationship”.
The leadership team works closely with the elders and is responsible for leading the church towards the vision God has given us.
Leadership Team Responsibilities:
The church is overseen by a team of elders currently consisting of Peter, Colin, Ewan, Gareth and Al.
Peter is married to Angela with two grown up daughters. Having become a full-time church leader in 1987, he became senior leader of the team here in 1991. He also supports the wider Relational Mission sphere of churches both regionally and internationally. He and Angela enjoy spending time working together in serving the churches and in their spare time love to get away to the coast or the hills in their camper van.
Gareth & Nicola have two children, Ben & Jaiya, and a much loved Cocker Spaniel named Dash. They previously lived as missionaries in Nepal & China and are passionate to see God’s Kingdom displayed in all the nations of the earth. Now, back from their travels, on the CCBS leadership team, Gareth & Nicola work together in oversight of the Youth & Children's teams, Kingdom Culture development and Prophetic ministry of the church. They both love to keep fit and eat any form of curry… not an easy balance!
Al is married to Jane and has four children. He joined the eldership team nearly three years ago and is currently working for the church 4 days a week. He also does consultancy work at a local global electronic components company where he has worked for the past 19 years. Al enjoys spending time with his family, reading, running, and cycling. Al oversees group life, preaches regularly and alongside Jane overseas the churches pastoral care.
The trustees serve the church and the elders in financial and legal matters and are accountable to The Charity Commission. Our registered charity number is 288340 and registered address is The Charis Centre, Water Lane, Bishops Stortford, CM23 2JZ.
