In 2008 Paul Manwaring received the shocking diagnosis that he had prostate cancer. This unwelcome news came to him while he was part of the senior staff team at Bethel church in California – an environment experiencing revival, and to which thousands of people from all over the world would travel specifically to receive a supernatural healing. God miraculously & instantaneously healed many people of all types of life threatening diseases at Bethel in that season. But despite hundreds of people praying for Paul, his restoration to health came through the skilled hands of those in the medical profession. Paul had confidence in God’s character. Paul had confidence in God’s power. Paul had faith for the God he had seen heal others to do exactly the same thing for himself – and yet on this occasion it didn’t happen as he had anticipated.
